Archery

Beginning Archery Program – North Olmsted Sportsman’s Club will start its summer program of Beginning Archery on June 19th. The program will provide lessons and coaching for those interested in learning the basics of archery. The program is open to the public. It is open to anyone regardless of age. You do not have to be a member of North Olmsted Sportsman’s Club to participate.

All necessary equipment will be provided thanks to a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The program will continue on every other Saturday through the summer (see schedule below). Sessions will normally be outdoors, but may move indoors if weather dictates.

Each session will begin at 11:00 a.m. and include lessons and coaching for the first 30 minutes. This will be followed by one hour of open archery for both practice and skill development.

The dates for the program are June 19; July 3, 17, and 31; August 14 and 28; and September 11 and 25.

Initial sessions will deal with range safety and range etiquette. Some time will be spent selecting and fitting equipment to the stature of each participant.

Open Shoot – The Archery Program is open to archers of all styles and skill levels including crossbow. Open shooting is held every Tuesday from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Shooting may be indoors or outdoors depending on weather Conditions. Occasional weekend or evening sessions can be scheduled.

Shooting indoors is from 20 ft. to 55 ft. distance. Outdoors, the range can be anywhere from 20 ft. to 80 yards by relocating the movable target stands.

Personnel are available to assist inexperienced or beginning archers.
